February 15th is National Black Girl Magic Day!
National Black Girl Magic Day is a holiday that celebrates the beauty, power, and resilience of Black girls and women. The day is observed on February 15th of every year, and it is a time to honor the unique experiences and contributions of Black girls and women to society.
The term “Black Girl Magic” was popularized by CaShawn Thompson in 2013 as a way to celebrate and uplift the achievements and successes of Black women. It has since become a cultural movement that empowers Black girls and women to embrace their identities and strive for excellence in all areas of their lives.
National Black Girl Magic Day is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of Black women and girls in various fields, including business, politics, sports, entertainment, and more. It is also a time to recognize the challenges that Black girls and women face, such as systemic racism and sexism, and to work towards creating a more equitable and just society.
The holiday encourages people of all races and genders to join in the celebration of Black Girl Magic and to support the ongoing struggle for racial and gender equality.
