National Wear Red Day

February 4, 2023 All day

February 4th is National Wear Red Day!

It is a day to promote the awareness of heart disease.

Heart disease is a broad term used to describe a range of conditions that affect the heart and blood vessels. It is the leading cause of death globally and is responsible for over 17 million deaths each year. Heart disease can take many forms, including coronary artery disease, heart attacks, heart failure, arrhythmia, and congenital heart disease.

The main causes of heart disease include high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, smoking, obesity, physical inactivity, and a family history of heart disease. To prevent heart disease, individuals can make lifestyle changes such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, quitting smoking, and controlling high blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

In addition, early detection and treatment of heart disease is critical to reducing the risk of complications and death. Heart disease can be managed through medication, lifestyle changes, and medical procedures such as surgery, but it is important to take preventative measures to reduce the risk of developing the condition.
