Presidents Day

February 21, 2023 All day

February 21st is Presidents Day!

Presidents Day is a federal holiday in the United States that is celebrated on the third Monday of February. The holiday was originally established to honor the birthday of George Washington, the first President of the United States, who was born on February 22, 1732.

Over time, the holiday has come to honor all of the presidents of the United States, both past and present. It is a day to celebrate the contributions and achievements of the men who have served as the nation’s chief executive, and to reflect on the history and traditions of the presidency.

Presidents Day is marked by a variety of events and activities across the country. Some people attend parades or other public celebrations, while others take the opportunity to visit historical sites or museums dedicated to the presidency. Many businesses and schools are closed in observance of the holiday.

In recent years, Presidents Day has also become an occasion for sales and special promotions, with many retailers offering discounts and deals in honor of the holiday. Despite the commercialization of the holiday, however, many Americans still take the opportunity to reflect on the values and ideals that the presidency represents, and to honor the leaders who have helped shape the nation’s history.

Happy President’s Day!
