World Day of the Sick
February 11, 2023 All day
February 11th is World Day of the Sick!
This day was established by Pope John Paul II in 1992 to encourage people to pray for those who are sick and suffering, and to recognize the important role that caregivers and healthcare professionals play in caring for those in need.
The World Day of the Sick is an opportunity for individuals, communities, and organizations around the world to come together to offer support and comfort to those who are sick or suffering, and to recognize the dignity and value of all human life, especially those who are most vulnerable. It is also a day to promote healthcare access and resources for people in need, and to highlight the need for greater compassion, empathy, and understanding in healthcare.
Each year, the Vatican issues a message for the World Day of the Sick, which focuses on a particular theme or issue related to healthcare and the needs of the sick. The message is intended to inspire and guide individuals and communities in their efforts to provide care and support to those who are sick and suffering.
Let’s remember World Sick Day and all those who are struggling with their health today.
